It’s that time of year again – winter break, road tripping, LOTS to see, and a whole preamble to awards season!!
Various organizations with variable criteria for seemingly endless categories offer up their assessments of what may be the best content produced in the preceding year, and I always find it fun to compare what got nominated with what I had the opportunity (and time) to look at via PVV.
Following, in no particular order, are only some of the award(s)-nominated projects from 2013 (and very late 2012): the longest title ever, the best film ever, bikini bandits, zombie flix, war flix, and a cabaret of desire…
Wicked Pictures’ Divorcees – one of my favorite films ever, Divorcees explores romance, women’s friendships, and real life in a way that is truly profound. You will not be disappointed.
(pictured: written and directed by, as well as starring, Stormy Daniels)
Girlfriends Films’ What Do You Want Me To Say? – in spite of its unnecessarily long and tedious title, this film is unexpected on multiple levels. You get tricked with the casting and compelled by the unconventional message.
Erika Lust’s Cabaret Desire – divine erotica in its purest form.
Smash Pictures’ Beyond Fucked: A Zombie Odyssey – a pretty badass zombie flix, shit blows up.
New Sensations’ Girl Fever – hott, and not just “hott for a girl-girl title” hott. And the cover image is not even the highlight.
(pictured: Riley and Remy do a really good job…)
Digital Playground’s Code of Honor – DP always makes the same movie, but they do it just fine. Once again, shit blows up.
