This just in -Â yet another person has had their career ruined because parents and/or caregiver sorts refuse to monitor kids’ interweb-related behaviors!!
I would almost be compelled to yawn and look away – “This again?” – if this type of thing didn’t make me so mad. According to AVN (March 7, 2012):
“J.H.S. Teacher Moonlighting as Porn Performer
OXNARD, Calif.—A junior high school teacher was placed on paid administrative leave Monday [March 5, 2012] after it was discovered she performed in adult movies.
The teacher at Haydock Intermediate School, who’s name hasn’t been released, is under investigation by the Oxnard School District, which will determine if she’ll continue her employment. There’s no moral turpitude clause in the teacher’s contract. A three-member committee will be tasked with deciding her fate…”
1. The teacher has since been identified. Her name is Stacie Halas. (here)
2. Stacie used to perform under the name Tiffany Six. And when I say “used to,” I’m getting at the fact that Tiffany Six hasn’t been credited in adult since 2007 (the 2009 credit on her IAFD listing is a compilation title, not a new scene or new work). Thus, AVN should perhaps amend the title of their piece to read “Junior High School Teacher Once Moonlit (moonlighted?) as Porn Performer.”
Now, it could be that Stacie is just doing web work these days, in which case she wouldn’t have her newer credits listed on IAFD; however, given the rest of AVN‘s coverage, I’m thinking no.
The aforementioned piece continues with some very interesting insights…
“The teacher’s adult work was discovered by students at the school, which should be more of a concern to school officials than the former activities of one of its teachers.
‘It has been alleged that one of our teachers is depicted in at least one pornographic video and possibly others on the Internet,’ superintendent Jeff Chancer said in a letter to parents whose children attend the district’s three junior high schools. ‘We are asking teachers to discourage the children from searching for and/or visiting these inappropriate sites.'”
Thanks, Jeff!! But I would actually ask that parents and caregivers also be requested to “discourage” (read: prevent) minor children from looking at age-inappropriate content on the internet. I would also like it if these same folks nurtured their kids and taught them how to get along in the social world… or at least just provided for their basic health and well-being.
“In a funny twist to the story, school administrators initially couldn’t find the teacher’s adult work after an internet search because they didn’t realize they were searching on the school’s computers that employed filtering software.
After this ‘investigation,’ the school fired off a memo to its staff, claiming the rumors weren’t true. Later that day two teachers came forward to show the admins the X-rated link on their phones. Oops!
According to KFI, the teacher in question appeared on BigSausagePizza.com, and the footage may have found its way onto a volume of the Big Sausage Pizza DVDs released between 2005 and 2008.” (quoted text originally here)
Some more things…
1. The school was doing its job!! Even the adults in the room couldn’t access porn on the internet at school. This means that kids – minor-aged children – were looking at adult content on non-school computers.
2. I decided to check out BigSausagePizza.com (of course I did). In order to get into the site, a web surfer must agree to this statement:
“I am at least 21 years of age.
The sexually explicit material I am viewing is for my own personal use and I will not expose minors to the material.
I desire to receive/view sexually explicit material.
I believe that as an adult it is my inalienable right to receive/view sexually explicit material.
I believe that sexual acts between consenting adults are neither offensive nor obscene.
The viewing, reading and downloading of sexually explicit materials does not violate the standards of my community, town, city, state or country.
I am solely responsible for any false disclosures or legal ramifications of viewing, reading or downloading any material in Reality Gang. Furthermore this website nor its affiliates will be held responsible for any legal ramifications arising from fraudulent entry into or use of this website.
I agree that by entering this website, I am subjecting myself and any business entity of which I have any legal or equitable interest to the personal jurisdiction of the State of Florida should any dispute arise at any time between this website and myself and/or such business entity.
This warning page constitutes a legal agreement between this website and you and/or any business in which you have any legal or equitable interest. If any portion of this agreement is deemed unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect the enforceability of the other portions of the agreement.
All performers on Reality Gang are over the age of 18, have consented being photographed and/or filmed, have signed model release and provided proof of age, believe it is their right to engage in consensual sexual acts for the entertainment and education of other adults and believe it is your right as an adult to watch them doing what adults do.
All girls appearing on Reality Gang dot com are 18 years or older. Go to http://legal.spicetv.com/ics/2257.html?members.realitygang.spicetv.com for records required pursuant to 18 U.S.C. & 2257 Statement. By entering Reality Gang you swear that you are of legal age in your area to view adult material and that you wish to view such material. The videos and images in this Reality Gang site are intended to be used by responsible adults as sexual aids, to provide sexual education and to provide sexual entertainment.
All performers are given the opportunity to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases at no charge to themselves within a reasonable amount of time before their performance. All activity is arranged and discussed in advance of filming and every effort is made to insure the health and safety of the performers and to ensure that their performance is a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
So, without too much further ado, if you’ve read and fully understand the above agreement, and you affirm and swear that viewing/downloading/receiving sexually explicit materials does not violate the standards of your community, that you won’t make any of the materials available to minors in any form, that you believe it is your constitutional right to view these materials, that you are wholly liable for any legal ramifications that may arise for your receiving or viewing of these materials and that you are over the age of 21…” (emphases added)
Not to belabor the obvious, but recall that “the teacher’s adult work was discovered by students at the school” – students at the junior high school.
I was in junior high school once. I turned 13 in 8th grade. Now, I know that junior highs have a few different grade structures… like, some of them go from 6th to 8th grade, others are just 7th and 8th, and so on… but I’m willing to bet anything that there is no 18 (much less 21) year old student attending Haydock Intermediate School.
All that being said, my (definitely belabored) point is: just like the school, the web masters of BigSausagePizza.com were doing their jobs.
3. But guess who wasn’t doing their jobs (again)? Parents and/or care-takers responsible for the minor-aged children involved here.
Once again, a person’s career is likely destroyed because of adults’ irresponsibility with kids in their care. Because even though Stacie has done nothing wrong and even though this is just another example of what’s becoming an oddly frequent series of events (kids discovering things about their teachers’ pasts), she’s still not going to be able to teach science or literature or even PE to a bunch of 13 year olds anymore. Kids at that age are oozing with hormones and sass – they will never take her seriously, regardless of whatever the three-person committee decides.
So in all likelihood, Stacie’s career in the Oxnard-area school system is over.
As I’ve said before, if a sex worker affiliated with the adult industry attempts to have a “normal†mainstream career (either in addition to a current adult job or after the fact), nothing good happens. At least not usually. Just ask Benedict Garrett, Michael Verdugo, Sandra Margot, Tera Myers, and/or Shawn Loftis.
Perhaps, like Tera Myers, Stacie will change her name and attempt to rebuild in another city or state. But in all likelihood, some unsupervised minor child will eventually refind her Big Sausage footage or whatever, and she will have to relive this experience again… and again… and again.
All because some parents and/or caregivers refuse to do their jobs.
[Incidentally, I realize that the circumstances surrounding this Stacie situation, as well as each of the aforementioned others, is more complicated than it is simple. This is certainly true of caring for a coming up minor, as well. But, by the same token, being an active and responsible caregiver can’t be all that complicated… can it? #justsayin]
