You know, tomorrow – May 21, 2011. It’s Judgment Day, but not like in Terminator… like in the Old Testament or Christianity or something. Light and burning salt and frogs and some serious Slayer-caliber metal will rain from the sky. All those who are to be saved will be, and all those who are not… well, I don’t know what’s gonna happen to them (read: us).
And I guess maybe it could happen… Oh gosh, what if it does!!??
But then what would happen to all those folks out there who are perfectly “good” in their daily lives, but just aren’t Christians of this particular “Judgment Day”-sort? Moreover, what would happen to all those folks who are perfectly aligned with another, different (and maybe even just as commonplace) set of spiritual beliefs within the context of their own society, culture, and/or experience?
Call me a sociologist, but it’s a little ethnocentric to assume that one version of spirituality and/or behavioral standards are “correct” in this sense. But what do I know about religion?! For sure, not much when it comes to the rapture and judgment and whatnot… (although I do know a fair amount about metal ;)
…but I’ll tell you what I do know – if today is the last day I’m gonna be around, there’s no one I’d rather spend it with than Magdalene St. Michaels.
Magdalene began working as adult talent in 2007, and she has since become one of the most sought after mature woman performers around. I met her recently when I made an appearance on Girlfriends Films’ Kinky & Creepy Show, and soon after we connected for an interview. Magdalene, a deeply spiritual women whose name derives in part from Mary Magdalene, shared quite a bit with me including the path that led her to the adult industry, her love of her fans (some of whom become more like friends), her love of animals, and her feelings on some aspects of some organized religions.
It was an intense and deeply-personal conversation wherein Magdalene shattered many stereotypes about adult performers and mature women talent, and I know you want to hear it all!! Have a listen to my conversation with this incredible woman…
Dr. Chauntelle interviews Magdalene St. Michaels:
Damn – talk about passionate!!
Magdalene is working to challenge stereotypes facing adult performers and diversify notions of women’s beauty and sexual desirability on a daily basis.
What did you do today (your last day on earth)?
And as an interesting added bonus… Magdalene was recently quoted by the BBC, stating that: “There’s more chance of catching a disease by picking someone up in a bar than there is shooting porn.” Read the full story here.
