Review by Vittoria Buzza
“Yaba Dabba… Do her hard!”
This statement (command?) is emblazoned across the top of New Sensations’ The Flintstones: A XXX Parody’s (2010) box cover, and it caught my attention immediately. I was quite certain this was going to be an entertaining film.
For starters, I must tell you that I was never a huge fan of Hanna-Barbera Productions’ “The Flintstones” (1960-66) as a child, but I definitely did watch the cartoon every once in a while. I did, however, thoroughly enjoyed The Flintstones (1994) movie when it came out in theaters.
It never occurred to me that this Stone Age cartoon could be turned into a hilarious adult parody… but then I saw this film and a new door was opened! I will never see this cartoon in the same light, and I think that’s a good thing :)
I must say that The Flintstones XXX is quite entertaining from beginning to end in terms of the comedic content – it is just over the top cheesy! Way cheesier than the actual cartoon… way cheesier than anything I had seen in a long time actually. A seriously ridiculous Stone Age cheese ball!
Don’t get me wrong, though. In my opinion, this is a good thing. When you are going to create a parody (especially an adult parody) of something like “The Flintstones” you HAVE to go way over the top in order to make the story entertaining.
The first thing I noticed upon watching the film was how incredibly similar The Flintstones XXX is to “The Flintstones.” Aside from the sex part, which is where the similarities stop, the wardrobe was exactly the same, the characters were all very physically similar (to cartoons!), and even the voices were right on.
The storyline of this film, however, is quite different from narrative arcs found in the source material. This version occurs approximately fourteen years post-cartoon era, and Fred is dealing with the trials and tribulations of heteronormative masculinity and aging ;) Here is what the box says:
“Poor Fred is having a mid-life crisis. His little girl Pebbles is 18 and getting ready to move out of the house. He’s getting older, maybe a little rounder, and he starts to question if he is attractive enough for his hot wife, Wilma. What happens when it is just the two of them? Could Wilma be seeing someone else? Is it Betty? Barney? Bam Bam? Mr. Slate? The result is one of the funniest parodies ever. The whole gang is here so come join them all for sexy, good time!”
(pictured: Hanna-Barbera’s “The Flintstones”)
However, I only noticed the difference in character age when it came to Pebbles and Bam Bam. Every other character did not seem to age one bit! I guess living in an apparently arid climate amongst rocks in some sort of stone hut allows one to not age as fast as other people… except, of course, when you are a cute kid trying to become a hot teenager. Modern day fountain of youth seekers take note?
In The Flinstones XXX, Fred is very much the main character. As the box copy states, the film revolves around his dealings with his own physical aging and the fact that his daughter, Pebbles, is going off to college soon. This, my friends, is a scary realization for any dad… especially when your daughter is as sexy as Pebbles (Hayden Winters).
Now, before I begin delving into the scenes, I must note one thing that was particularly interesting to me. Peter O’Tool, who plays Fred Flintstone, NEVER has sex. Sure, he fantasizes about it a lot (this is the reason why we get to see many of the sex scenes in the first place), but he never actually removes his stony cloak.
At the outset, I was honestly very interested to see Fred get down and dirty with Wilma, or maybe even Betty… hell, maybe even Barney (gasp!). However, nothing like this ever happens during the film. Maybe the filmmakers are saving it for the sequel? Or maybe this has something to do with the character of Fred himself, body politics, and/or, by proxy, Peter O’Tool?

I think one of my favorite parts about the film was the way in which it started. Shortly after we see Fred at work in the first scene, he starts to fantasize about Wilma and Betty getting it on. He is literally at work (sitting on a huge dinosaur) when he just drifts off to fantasyland…
This leads to the first sex scene in the film, which is between – you guessed it – Wilma and Betty! As much as I was not an avid follower of this show when I was young, I am almost certain that at one point I had to have wondered what it would have been like for these two beautiful characters to go down on each other. Happiness.
In this scene Betty (Brooke Lee Adams) shows off her panties to Wilma (Hillary Scott), and soon after that everything gets hot and steamy in their stone home. There is not much dialogue during the actual sex scene, but when they do talk or moan, they definitely stay in character and keep their high-pitched voices. Awesome!
Their sex scene covered as many sexual positions as I can think of off the top of my head, and lasted quite a long while. This scene was yaba dabba gooooooood!
Soon enough though, we realize that it really was just Fred’s dream – Wilma and Betty didn’t “actually” have sex… but after watching Fred’s fantasy, I really think they should ;)
The rest of the film includes sex scenes with the following combinations of characters: Barney and Betty (predictable), Pebbles and Bam Bam (wow, they sure grew up!), Mr. Slate and a sexy secretary (kind of gross), and Wilma and Tyler.
Who’s Tyler? Oh, are you wondering why you do not remember someone with that name on “The Flinstones”? Well, because he wasn’t there.
Tyler’s character in this adult film is actually pretty confusing (at least it was for me). Throughout the entire film, I was almost certain that he was Wilma’s lover; but the sex scene between him and Wilma turns out to be another one of Fred’s fantasies – not much proof there. Anyway, I was pretty certain that those two were getting it on behind Fred’s back the entire time… but in the end it was abruptly mentioned that Tyler’s gay, which definitely left me more confused about his character than I was to begin with.
So there’s that…
But I must tell you a little bit about what I found to be the most memorable Stone Age sex – Pebbles and Bam Bam.
Substantiating Fred’s worst fears, Pebbles is no longer daddy’s little girl. This horny teenage bombshell getting ready to head off to college, but first she needs a little bam bam. After a night out in the bedrock, Pebbles tries to convince Bam Bam to sneak into the house and do her on a fuzzy pink blanket. After much hesitation, Bam Bam finally relents… even though both of their families are in the living room watching “30 Rock”!
The sex scene that follows is quite entertaining, and both actors also stay in their goofy characters throughout the entire thing. At the end of the night, Bam Bam definitely made Pebbles’ bed rock!
As I said before, the entire film, from bed rocking to bam bam to Fred’s anxiety-driven projections, is definitely over the top cheesy. There is a lot of dialogue and ridiculous laugh-track type noise in the background, and the plot is silly silliness. The whole thing was, dare I say, cute.
That being the case, if you are someone that enjoys more heavy-duty sexual content and not a lot of dialogue and story, this might not be the film for you; however, if you have fond memories of “The Flintstones” and always wondered what it would have been like to see some sex in the Stone Age, this is the film for you!
Recommended for: Hillary Scott fans (especially if you are into the whole Stone Age Wilma mini-dress thing), “The Flintstones” fans, people who enjoy a good period piece, and anyone who wants a little light cheesy fun with their sexy time!
Girls: Hillary Scott, Misty Stone, Brooke Lee Adams, and Hayden Winters.
Guys: Dale DaBone, Anthony Rosano, Rod Fontana, Seth Gamble, and Tyler Scott.

BTS: I feel as though I have been stumbling upon films with a very elaborate BTS content lately, and I really really like it. Honestly, I think one of my favorite parts about watching adult content is the BTS! Some hate it, but I love seeing how a film was made, what the performers have to say, etc.
The Flintstones XXX’s BTS definitely featured all I wanted to see and more. It was over two hours long and consisted of a photo gallery, behind the scenes peeks, plenty of entertaining interviews, and even a “party version” of the film.
I had never seen such a thing before, so I was not exactly sure what to expect. It turns out that the party version is just the film without any of the sex… so, like a soft PG-13 cut that you could play as a party or something – fun! It was definitely interesting to watch, and I enjoyed the realization that The Flintstones XXX could stand alone… with or without all the bam bam.
