Excellent, excellent points.

I particularly liked her final points about how porn provides a useful commodity for couples. I have always thought and continue to believe that one of the best things that has happened to porn, both for women and for couples, is the internet. The internet allowed people to access porn safely and privately. It allowed people to explore. (Incidentally, this is the one argument I can think of in favor of the utility -- if not the legitimacy -- of the tube sites. They allow people quickly and effectively to explore options, to learn what they like and don't like. When there is a more controlled version for porn distribution -- something like the iTunes model that I think is inevitable -- there will be the potential for this same exploration but without privacy. That's why I think the creation of an iTunes type service is so vital.)

And condom-free porn is absolutely a huge part of this. Porn gives people the opportunity to experience vicariously what they can't experience actually. And there are a million reasons why people can't and shouldn't engage in every sexual desire they have. It's self-defeating for one thing. It's unhealthy for another. It would interfere with normal, daily functioning for yet another. A self-regulated adult industry that uses the most effective means of reducing STD risk (a more effective means than anything other than abstinence) is a necessity to provide people with those sorts of vicarious experiences.

Over the years, I've gotten to know a lot of cuckolds and cuckoldresses. If you want to find a group of people who have some pretty intense, difficult-to-sustain desires, it's them. Whether you're talking about a desire for gangbangs, or no-strings submission to masculine authority, or anonymous sex, or impregnation fantasies, or whatever. And having talked to them, one of the things I've learned is universal is that they are very cautious and reticent when it comes to actually living out their desires. And there's perfectly good reason for this. They're married. They're likely to have responsibilities. They're likely to have families, jobs, etc.. Most of all, like people generally, they understand that actions have consequences and (despite the paternalists who insist that we all need protection from ourselves and our desires) they need to behave responsibly.

So, cuckold porn (which makes ABSOLUTELY no sense without pop shots) allows them to explore that together, whether they are or aren't exploring it in real life. So, good argument Ms. Duke.

Wow. "Being able to realize your sexual potential, I think, is something that -- for especially married couples who have been married for awhile -- I think it's definitely a quality of life issue." Odd that she seemed to be a little nervous, since I think that's exactly the best argument in favor of the utility of porn. Of course, there's a First Amendment which means that porn doesn't need to justify itself to the world or any government agency. But still, it's nice to see someone saying something so incredibly obvious and important.

The single best thing that happened to porn was the internet. Because it brought porn to a place where it can be consumed safely and among people who benefit from sharing it together. And, although this wasn't Duke's point at all, this has especially benefitted women despite what anti-sex feminists have been claiming for years. It's probably true that, before the internet, men had much more access to porn because they could more "safely" access it.

But I digress. Porn gives people who can't experiment as much as they'd like an opportunity to experience the things they fantasize about vicariously. For most women, a gang bang isn't a real possibility. For most couples, a swing orgy likely won't happen. And, even if these things could happen for the people who want them, there would be all sorts of health and safety concerns.

Condom free porn is essential to that. I have been fortunate to have gotten to know a fair number of cuckolds and cuckoldresses over the years. And if there is a group of people who have outrageous sexual fantasies involving multiple partners, condomless sex, anonymous encounters, absolute male sexual authority, impregnation fantasies, etc., it's them. But at the same time, even the people who are really into cuckoldry indulge their desires cautiously and with limited frequency. It's just preposterously reckless for them not to do so. Cuckold porn has done so much to allow such couples to embrace their true identities and fulfill their desires in a safe way. (Incidentally, this is tangentially related to an issue that I asked Dr. Chauntelle about for an interview I did with her for hotwifeblog.)

So, asserting that condom-free porn is a valuable asset for adult couples who voluntarily seek it out is an incredibly useful component in the free speech arsenal.
